Dizzy Trainspotters (CD Rotation thread)
I have spent so much time on my pc in the last 5 weeks that i have realised my cd collection is getting a poundin by the fact i now know everysingle in and out of every track and song like i wrote it myself. I love em, but what are you listening to??
I have been listening to;
Another Late nite mixed by KID LOCO
All Mixed Up DJ SPINNA
Mushroom Jazz Vols 3 and 4 MARK FARINA
Back to Mine NEW ORDER
Sunnyside promo mix DJ TOUPEE (rocks btw)
Cardiology RECLOOSE
As of late?
The Music - Whatever the new one is called.
System of a Down - Steal this Album
A Perfect Circle - eMOTIVe
Helmet - Size Matters
The Cure - Bloodflowers
And there's always a TOOL cd getting regular rotation. :hb:
I don't really do the CD thing very much, just in the car, but here goes:
Queens of the Stone Age: Songs for the deaf.
A Perfect Circle: Self titled? (I dunno, the first one)
Rage against the Machine: Renegades
And just to mix it up a little,
Marco Baily : Banging techno (not the title, but a valid description)
That Perfect Circle album is called:
"Mer de Noms"
You gotta hear eMOTIVe. It's all covers of war protest songs. Devo's Freedom of Choice is the best!!
:hb:
rock pigs
Hi rotation is a hard thing to say with my CD playing but here are some that have had more than one spin in the last month
Soundgarden, badmototrfinger
you am i, the cream and the crock
QOTSA, all of em
the beatles, all of em
Iggy and the stooges, raw power
Jesus and blaspheming cunts, rock rocks hard :hb:
We have a household high rotation system going, most frequently played
Hilltop Hoods
Sublime
Benfolds Live (Frequent list for a year now)
Robbie live at the Albert (this is my vaccuming/cleaning cd - not his songs Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra & Sammy Davis Jr)
These three cd's get played often more than once a day when people get home and are unaware of the fact it was played 20 minutes ago.
Robbie live at the Albert (this is my vaccuming/cleaning cd - not his songs Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra & Sammy Davis Jr)
you pop dog
i shouldnt keep going, or maybe i should and change the name of this thread to lukes musical critizism.
I love it, I have a Robbie problem but other pop stars can bite me.
Kattuz......you listed four CDs.....not three.
Sorry, but as the Messy accountant I feel I must correct all addition errors. ?:-[
I assume you meant the first three. ?

YES, mullet byocyh gets her props...>
ON HIGh rotation at my sqaulod hole is my seriously warped and deteriated mix tape of alec empire vs sarin vs me+ some hippy tecno shite. If I suddenly disappear unbo its cause my neighbors felt the digi-hardcore drill in thier brains 1 times to many ^))
"Reality is shit, and cyber-space is GOD... DELETE YOURSELF!"
I've found a new way to be happy at work and it relies on blocking it all out with headphones and I'm going to push it hard until people get shitty with me.
So what's been on high rotation?
NIN - Downward Spiral
NIN - Further down the spiral
Problem Child's demo *supertip*
The Faint - wet from birth

Yep, the guy and the chick. They were based in Japan for a while.
Actually was listening to an old Minor threat CD on the weekend. Fark, I love digging up old CD's I haven't listened to in ages.
funny ay, i met mink engine on the weekend,
they are mates with sarah the tsunami devil, an old mate of mine, who was in melbourne for the last month and whose liver a gave a pounding on the weekend
minkengine.com
funnier thing was i was telling all these people about the messy crew....
woah - serendipity - i hate that word - i know it's like the celestine prophecy it's like no coincidence that i've met most of you now... let's start a cult and rendevous with a comet, yeah baby the comet of doof
i digress
i don't have a cd player - but i have been listening to airborne, wolfmother and authechre and jeff mills on cd recently...
Are they based back ere now? My girlfriend loves there toonz.
yeah they are - though Adam (the bloke) said they won;'t be performing for a while, and they are touring os later in the year maybe going to sonar ==
fucking sonar man....
Dude. I'm so pleased to hear you are enjoying those CDs. They are some of my favourites. That Millionaire is Stoner Rock for the future.
My latest CD to get flogged to death is Porcupine Tree's Deadwing.
Its the closest mix to Tool and Pink Floyd I can find. Very progressive, occasionally heavy and very emotional. Daim, I reckon you'ld dig it being a Floyd fan. I need to get more. And I need to get some Isis too.
Mink Engine have a great website
ive got a couple of bits that are spinning out of fashion
isolee 'we are monster'
ive had this on vinal for the last year however have recently been listening to it as a CD and it had blown me away again. I didnt realise how good it is as a compilation. highly recommended
got to goto class... will tell you the rest in a bit

Sounds great.
...yeah... stoners rock!
Just can't get over that dusty, distorted droning sound.
isis was one of my faves of last year....
that and getting original slint vinyl, but that's vinyl....
scotto - if ya get a chance go and see the stabs - i saw em a t a party a couple of weeks ago and they were fucking great i shit you not
Nothing new, but these CDs have been in my favour over the past few weeks:
Neil Young - Harvest
Yann Tiersen - Le Phare
The Beatles - Help!
Noir Desir - des Visages des Figures
Isolee - We Are Monster
The Youngsters - Lemonorange
Le Phare is one of the most beautiful albums I've ever come across. It never fails to restore my sense of tranquility, although melancholy and impassioned in its way. The perfect morning music after your ears have copped a beating the night before.
I find the Isolee album similarly calming and refreshing. It's thoughtful music, that puts you in a different space to where you were before.
