We have just booked a mini-bus and sorted a sound system.  So preparations are going great.

Here is an email from Robin Cook outlining the vision and practicalities of the gig for anyone interested in going.

Thanks for your 'ED Chat' message regarding details of this years 'ED08'
adventure..

Basically it's all really simple. June Solstice (21st) marks the
kick-off; cast your demons into the fires of the 'Mighty Burning Demon'.
'Day Out Of Time', July 25th-26th, marks the wind-down.. the Mayan 'New
Year'.

The directions to ED08 @ 'Mutonia' Sculpture Park @ Alberrie Creek SA,
are on the flier, which is on the website >.
Come up through the Flinders Ranges from Port Augusta, definitely check
out Wilpena Pound if you have time, go through Hawker and Lyndhurst,
then go 60Km past Marree on the Oodnadatta Track (a 'freeway' of a
track!) until you see two Airplanes (and a Giant Dog) sticking out of
the desert on your left.. in through the gate there.. you're then Home!
Yes, it would help to arrive in daylight.

Other tips.. bring a spare tyre or two, ironically, well maintained
though the Oodnadatta is, it is AFTER grading operations that sometimes
a few sharp stones are 'unearthed'! Last LPG @ Lyndhurst. Petrol &
Diesel & Food @ Marree. IF (and that's a big 'IF') the Oodnadatta is
closed because of rain, wait at Copley where you will be welcomed, or
surrounding beautiful countryside, until it is reopened.. Liegh Creek
just down the road from there has Coles, Post Office, Servo etc. etc.

Otherwise it's all basic 'common sense'.. bring what you feel you need;
tent & extra pegs, extra chocolate(!), toilet paper, cooker, dried
foods, jerry can + fuel, CDs, Love, trowel, tarps, ropes, head-torch,
kids, warm night-wear, not too many dogs, cats or pet pigs, water
containers, a tolerance of dust, mega-landscapes, massive skies and
other people and you'll be fine!

Once on site there is ample Bore-water for washing + cooking, even a
Mutoid pedal-powered washing machine and a SMALL amount of local
rainwater for 'emerencies' ONLY. Roxby Downs township however is about
100km to the South West of Alberrie Creek and has 'the lot'.. mega
supplies of drinking water, medical facilities, 'Mitre 10', Coles,
Engineering shops, Servos + LPG, Super-friendly Police Station, Internet
Access, free Radio-Active Isotopes and much more! It is normal for
someone with an empty trailer and a 4x4 to offer to do a 'water-run'
there at least once a week.

WITHOUT making a MAJOR issue out of it.. the inevitable 'Pooh and Wee'
situation.. we have declined offers to dig communal 'drop pit' toilets
in order to minimise the obvious health risks associated with this
method. Therefore you go for a (sociably long) walk with a shovel, your
toiley-paper and a lighter, do your things in the resultant hole, burn
the paper (and NOT the surrounding bush!), bury your organic offering to
Mother Earth and head back to camp feeling much lighter!
The importance of burning the paper should be emphasized.. other wise
what happens is that indiscriminate local Dingoes sneak in at night,
un-bury your offering, do the unimaginable with it and leave the paper
to blow off in the wind (and on some days there's plenty of that!) and
it then gets caught in an unsightly manner in the grasses and branches
of our environment. 'Nuff said!

Finally, this is Our event, Our Corroboree, Our playground, Our chance
to meet each other and local Aboriginal Poeples, Our opportunity to heal
and to create Our own Future together, it is free and it will be AS we
create it! Do you really want to live in a rubbish strewn shit-hole?

Enjoy and be patient.. only four more years until the '2012 Portal' to
Our New World Reality finally opens to Us.

Please see this as a practice run, as a 'Homeopathic dose' and as an
opportunity to 'set the standards'!! And please.. know also, that
between May and September 08, you are part of a massive, concerted and
conscious Global effort, initiated by the North American Indigenous
Peoples and supported by the Australian Indigenous Peoples and occurring
on many 'levels' therefore, to finally rid the Planet of negative
thought forms, behaviours and control systems, of fear based
governmental dictates, selfish and unprincipled behaviour of any sort
and to instead set up the New Paradigms, based on Co-operation, Sharing,
Balance, Respect, Unity, Giving, and the holding of an Unwavering
Belief, that anything We do here and now, sets up the potentials for our
own, ever-rapidly approaching 'super-futures'.. know also that we are
all, of course, Loved far beyond our present comprehension!!
