Thanks peeps, yeah I had a great weekend, thanks everyone. Big dinner followed by antics and more antics.

The highlight of my weekend had to be sitting out on the foootpath on Nicholson Street with the decks and half my living room dancing around to disco tunes when the burglar alarm started going off next door turning our little sidewalk party into a full blown rave.

ahhh the lack of memory.

Well ok now the most awesome steak in all of melbourne, in my humble experience, is found at Vlado's restaurant, Bridge Rd. Richmond. http://www.vlados.com.au/

i'm going into detail 'cause it's worth it.......

ok now this restaurant you are there for the steak. you don't actually have a choice, so don't take any vegetarians with you

the menu is set, comprising of entree, appetizer, mains and desert. the only choices you actually have at any point are cut of steak and cooking time, and whether you would like strawberry pancakes or just strawberries and icecream for desert. and when you would like to eat, of course

when we went the entree's and appetizers was firstly a Beef and Pork Neck sausage, delicious, followed by plates of small eye fillet pieces, and grilled pieces of beef, pork and liver. i am a big fan of liver not everybody else is, so that meant more for me hahahahahaha

mains. well. basically once you've finished the entrees, your waiter comes back with a big tray, and on the tray is four cuts of meat. Two large and two small. You pick the one you want and tell him how you want it cooked, and voila.

so i had enourmous porterhouse, and i had it rare. It was the most rare steak i think i've ever eaten, also the tastiest. The quality of the steak was, well, phenomenal. to the degree that i still can't face the thought of having a steak at our local..... and they do great steak. but the dude in charge, Vlado, he chooses the damn cow, ages the meat in his coolroom and cooks it himself over a charcoal fire

anyway it's a full-on experience going there, we did the whole deal from sausage to desert... of the seven of us there, only 3 managed to eat there entire meal... ehsan, kath and me

oh and the strawberry pancakes are to die for!

vegetables consists of a bowl of cabbage and tomatoes. don't ask me what they do to the cabbage, it's not quite sauerkraut but something close... and it's awesome! i really want to know how you make cabbage so awesage!

damn that was some bitching steak though.
(if ya ever feel like going it's going to work out at about $75 a head not including drinks)

if yer feeling cashed up and celebarratory i totally totally recommend it. oh yeah, the homemade horseradish cream is also the bomb.
